About This Class

This introductory course is a fully inclusive performing arts-based healthy relationships workshop for neurodivergent adults and their peers. The class offers a structured and emotionally safe space to explore dating, friendship, consent, communication and boundaries. This is not a matchmaking class. Participants will be told clearly that dating within the class is not permitted.

The workshop is supervised by Hannah Olander, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Program Director of The Miracle Project. Content development for this course was supported by Dr. Jess Block Nerren, whose educational expertise helped shape the structure and safety framework of the class.

Through discussion, creative exercises, and guided scenarios, participants explore topics such as:

  • Different types of relationships

  • Respectful ways to show romantic or platonic interest

  • Consent in verbal and nonverbal forms

  • Coping with rejection

  • Healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics

  • Staying safe online and offline

  • Setting and respecting boundaries

  • Building confidence and self-advocacy

This workshop is an introductory class, though participants are welcome to take it more than once. Each session evolves based on the questions and real-life situations that participants bring in, so the learning remains fresh and relevant every time. As the program grows, The Miracle Project may develop a next-level course for those who want to go deeper.
